Gardening

One thing Cart and I are finding that we enjoy is yard work! It's so fun to go out when we both have time and work together in our yard! There is a lot of work that needs to be done to our yard that had no owner for 2 plus years. Everything has kinda taken over and it ll needs to be remaintaned. My dad came over with his skid loader the other day and pulled out all the old grandma bushes that were in the front that were over taking the house. Now we get to start over new with what we want to plant in our flower beds. Too bad flowers and bushes cost about an arm and a leg! There are tons of bushes in our back yard so we are going to transplant some into the front. I just couldn't stand to not have any flowers growing so Me'Chel and I went and gt so to put in planters. (That way I onlyhad to spend $35 instead of $350 to fill all the flower beds.) I had so much fun planting these flowers in the pots and setting them all over my porches. I have to say though I am a little nervous that I might not be the best gardener since I'm so new and all so I hope I can keep them alive and growing. :)

Raccoon Hunting

The other day Cart was out mowing the lawn and our dog Tank kept jumping up and down at the bottom of our tree. This is nothing new, he does this all day to birds that are nesting in our trees. Carter didn't pay much attention to him, but then noticed he was acting more excited than usual.
The next thing I know Carter is calling through the house "Jord, come look QUICK!" I noticed he was more excited than normal. I came out and stood under the enormous tree in our front yard looking up at a HUGE raccoon that Tank had treed. It freaked me out a little bit cause I just kept thinking it was gonna jump down and attack all of us and give us all rabies. Those things can be mean!! But it didn't! Tank had scared it so bad that it just sat in a ball way high up in our tree.

Before I knew it Cart was back with his 22. There is something about m husband and guns that I will just never understand. His adrenaline was pumping and he was ready to get this raccoon down. He kept saying "Goo boy Tank! Goo Boy!!" Next thing I know I am standing in my jeep out the sun roof with the camera pointed towards Cart, but my eyes pointed towards the other direction. He wanted me to record him killing this thing. AWESOME!! Thanks for nothing!

And kill it he did! I think the school down the street had to call all the kids in from recess because the thought there was a murderer in town. The gun went off like 27 times. Now we had a dead raccoon in our tree with rigamortis setting in. 5 hours later Carter had to climb the tree and get the stiff raccoon out of the tree so it didn't stink up the universe. Carter was now not as tough without a gun in his hand and he kept asking me "It's dead right? It has to be dead! There is no way this thing could still be alive!"

He finally got it out an burried it! But look how honkin huge this sucker was! I'm glad I didn't see it alive cause if that thing bit a person, they would surely die! Thanks Tank and Carter for taking care of business out here in good old West Weber!

Happy Birthday Jess!!

Life is weird! The older I get, it seems the suckier friend I am! I hate it! But I feel like that's just how life is! Jesslynn has been one of my bestest friends since we were just in 1st grade. When our families first met they became good friends right away!

I didn't care for Jess much when we first met because the first time I had her over to play, we played "house" and she HAD to be the mom and I HAD to be the daughter! Hello, I am older, I should have gotten to be the mom! But nope! Not only did it bug me that she thought she got to boss me around, she also would literally slap me in the face when I was a bad daughter!

I have so many hilarious memories with Jess. We got to be so close that we couldn't even bare the thought of each other getting married. We wrote up a pack and signed it in blood saying that we would never love anyone as much as we loved each other, not even our own husbands. We could love them equal but not more. :) We would always say that we woulnd grow to be little old ladies together and when our husbands died we would live together and sit on our porch everyday sipping on lemonade and crack each other up all day.

Jess is like a ray of sunshine, she is always laughing and lighting up the room! I love her with all my heart! Jess and I always say you know you are good friends when you can go for weeks and weeks and not talk or see each other and then when you finally do you can pick right up where you left off and it feels like you talked yesterday! Happy birthday Jess!! Love you!

New Job For Me

I just found out that I got the job!!
WOO!! WOO!!!
I am Alpine Plastic Surgery's new nurse.
I am so excited to have a change in pace with my work life.
I will still be full time on Mckay Dee's float pool,
I will just pick up a one day a week position for this surgeon.
I am seriously STOKED!!!
No Holidays, No Nights, No Weekends.
Life is good!

Ogden Marathon Medic Team

I wish that I could say that I was trained enough to
have run today in the Ogden 1/2 Marathon, BUT.............
............... I'm not!
Instead I had the opportunity to be on the
medic team with a bunch of fun nurses and Dr's from McKay.
I saw A LOT today:
People's bodies literally collapsing at the finish line,
Body temperatures so low that it caused unconsciousness,
(I know, you'd think it'd be high temps right?)
Sodium and Potassium levels off the charts,
and Dehydration so bad it caused body convulsions.
Those are a few reason why I have no desire to run a WHOLE marathon.
I saw a lot today and it was so cool to be there volunteering with
good people that I work with at the hospital!
I even got this sweet shirt! :)

Joe's Crab Shack

My dad treated the family to a pre-mother's day dinner
at Joe's Crab Shack in Sandy due to the fact that my
mom could eat crab all day long and love every second of it!
I hadn't ever been there and so I must say, it was a treat!
It was a fun atmosphere with good company
& delicious crab!
(That I too could eat till I puke!)

For Our Mothers

(Another Old picture......sorry!)
Carter and I are very lucky to have two wonderful mothers!
One plus about getting married is that you gain a second mother.
I am so grateful for my mother and all that she has done for all of us kids in our lives.
Mothers are the foundation of a family in most cases and they can either make or break a home.
I am so grateful that our mothers taught us and guided us!
I am also so grateful for Carters mom and how she has raised him to be such a good and thoughtful husband!
Happy Mothers Day you two!
We love you both so very very much!!
Hope you had a wonderful Mothers Day!

Happy Birthday Ledgey Boy!

(This is an old picture)
My sweet nephew had his 1st Birthday this Saturday!
He has been such a sweet baby!
We love him SOOO much!
Carter can never get enough of pinching hims fat cheeks!
Happy First Birthday Buddy!!
Love, Cart and Jord :)

Dulce de Leche Cake

This is SERIOUSLY the best tasting cake I have ever made. I am so excited I think I've finally found a cake recipe that I LOVE! I made this cake for Katee's graduation party. My husband isn't a big cake fan and even he about died over it! I'm so excited!! You can try it too!
Dulce de Leche cake: 1 white cake mix with 1/2C ice cream caramel topping.
Make cake batter as the box calls for and just add caramel.
Cinnamon Cream Cheese Filling: 1Pkg 8oz cream cheese, softened, 1/2C confections sugar, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1/4 cup milk. Combine all till filling consistency.
Cinnamon Butter cream Icing: 1/2 C Crisco shortening, 1/2 cup butter softened, 1 teaspoon Wilton's clear vanilla, 4 cups sifted confections sugar (1lb), 2 tbs milk.
Add all ingredients except for milk and sugar.
Add sugar 1 cup at a time, once frosting consistency add milk.
I got these recipes from Wilton. You're gonna love it!!
